Pastor: Fr. Danny Fister
Father Danny Fister
Fr. Danny Fister entered Seminary for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington after graduating from Lexington Catholic High School in 1999. He graduated from Conception Seminary College at Conception Abbey with a Bachelors in Theology in May of 2003. He entered Conception Abbey after graduation in order to discern a monastic vocation. He remained for two years and left during simple-vows to rejoin the Diocese of Lexington in 2005. He was sent to Philadelphia for graduate studies in Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, where he graduated on May 15th 2009. On May 16th he was Ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Lexington by Bishop Ronald Gainer. He was assigned to his home parish of Christ the King in Lexington for his first year of ministry, after which he was appointed Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Pikeville, Kentucky. Fr. Fister joins our Parish & School family after serving three years in the mission territory of Eastern Kentucky.
Principal: Mrs. Lucy Marsh
Lucy Marsh has a great love for St. Mary School. Her grandmother was a student in the first class in 1888! Her daughter, who is a missionary in England, also attended St. Mary School. "Miss Lucy" feels great humility in serving God and his children in this role, and she prays for vision and wisdom in leading the school.
Office Manager: Mrs. Katherine Leer
Mrs. Katherine Leer graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She moved to Paris, KY where she married George M. Leer in 1989. Mrs. Leer worked at Sayre Upper School from 1992-1998 and joined the St. Mary School family in January 1999 as the school’s secretary. All four of Mrs. Leer’s children attended St. Mary School. In July 2011, Mrs. Leer took on the job of parish secretary in addition to school secretary. This has been a huge undertaking for her, but she feels it was for the betterment of St. Mary School and the Annunciation Catholic Church.
Montessori Teacher: Mrs. Tiffany Bezeau
Mrs. Tiffany is the lead teacher of the Montessori Program. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Psychology and her Montessori certification from the Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education in 2015. Mrs.Tiffany has been at St. Mary School since 2012 and her children have attended St. Mary School since 2007. She is a member of Annunciation Church. Mrs. Tiffany is proud to be a part of such a wonderful network of administrators, educators, and families!
Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Jennifer Arnold
Mrs. Arnold started teaching in 1994 and came to St. Mary School in 1999 to teach Kindergarten students. She received her Bachelor’s from Morehead State University and her Master’s degree from Georgetown College. Her husband and she were blessed with one son who attended St. Mary School. She enjoys teaching Kindergarten and helping students grow academically and spiritually. She also enjoys singing, watching her son participate in sports and spending time with her family.
First Grade Teacher: Ms. Jenny Hyatt
Ms. Hyatt was born and raised in Cynthiana and she still calls it home. She graduated from Midway College in 2006 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Ms. Hyatt is getting ready to start her Masters. In 2016, she completed her Masters in Literacy at The University of the Cumberlands. This is her 6th year of teaching. Ms. Hyatt enjoys volunteering at her church, acting in community theatre, and singing any chance she gets. St. Mary School is like a second family to Ms. Hyatt and she is very blessed that God called her to be a part of the St. Mary School family.
Second Grade Teacher: Miss Danele Kuta
Miss Kuta graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2011 with a dual major in Learning Behavior Disorders and Elementary Education. She is also bilingual in Spanish and enjoys sharing her Hispanic Heritage with the students at St. Mary School. Ms. Kuta encourages students to discover the world around them as they discover who they are in Christ. She also delights in watching the students grow closer to God every day and pushing them to believe in themselves.
Third Grade Teacher: Ms. Lauren Cordray
Ms. Cordray has been teaching 3rd grade at Saint Mary School since 2014. She earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Georgetown College and her Masters in Special Education from University of the Cumberlands. She loves teaching and watching children grow and learn in all aspects of their lives.
Fourth Grade Teacher: Mrs. Cheryl Conley
Mrs. Cheryl Conley received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern KY University and her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Georgetown College. She has 16 years experience teaching in Paris Independent and most recently Bourbon County Schools. She has two children. Mrs. Conley enjoys spending time with her family and loves to scrapbook. She is excited to be a part of the SMS family!
Fifth Grace Teacher: Mrs. Marlene Langfels
After several years of retirement, I am happy to be in the classroom again, especially at St. Mary School. I taught 20 years at Paris Independent and four years in a private setting. This is my fourth year at St. Mary and my second in the full time position. I am so looking forward to sharing learning experiences with my students as we work and discover together.
Montessori to 5th Grade Art: Mrs. Candy Beauman
Mrs. Beauman graduated from University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Art Education. She taught art for 13 years in the Bourbon County School System. She owns and operates The Art Studio, located in downtown Paris, KY. Mrs. Beauman has taught at St. Mary School for 6 years. She also coaches our cheerleading team at St. Mary School. Two of Mrs. Beauman’s three children attend St. Mary School.
Librarian: Mrs. Theresa Koch
Mrs. Koch has been volunteering as the St. Mary School librarian since 2011. Mrs. Koch and her husband, Gus, moved to Paris in 1978 and enrolled their children at St. Mary School. All ten of their children graduated from St. Mary School and four of their twenty-four grandchildren attend the school as well. Mrs. Koch loves children and enjoys reading books. When asked why she volunteers her time every week at St. Mary School she stated, “Reading to St. Mary's little people is a pleasure and such a rewarding way for me to give back to St. Mary School. The school provided a good educational and faith foundation for my children.”
Second Grade Religion Teacher: Mrs. Carolyn Coons
Mrs. Carolyn Coons, a long-time member of the Church of the Annunciation, is teaching religion to our second graders.
P.E. & Computer Teacher: Miss Corrie Frye
.Miss Corrie is a member of the Church of the Annunciation and attended St. Mary. She graduated from Paris High School in 2008. Graduated from Maysville Community and Technical College in 2011 with an Associates Degree in Arts and an Associates Degree in Science. Miss Corrie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 from Morehead State University in University Studies with an emphasis in Middle School Math and Science and Special Education. Miss Corrie began in 2014/15 school year teaching computer and gym at SMS and is excited to begin her third year at SMS!!
Pre-K Montessori Aide: Mrs. Mary Ann Withrow
Mrs. Mary Ann Withrow earned her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Ky University in Physical Education, with an emphasis on Health and Fitness. She, as well as her four children, attended St. Mary School. "Miss Mary Ann" is excited to be joining the SMS family again as the Montessori aide.
